1. What we collect
Account information (email, display name), profile details you provide (state of residence, date of birth where required for age-restricted categories), listing content and images you upload, messages you send through the platform, and identity verification results from our third-party verification provider — we receive a verified/unverified status, not the underlying documents themselves. We also collect standard technical data (IP address, browser information) for security and abuse prevention.
2. How we use it
To operate the marketplace: creating and displaying your listings, enabling messaging between buyers and sellers, enforcing age and state-based restrictions on regulated categories, processing subscription and fee payments, and sending transactional email (sign-in links, order and auction notifications). We don't sell your personal information.
3. Who we share it with
Other users see what your listings, profile, and messages reasonably expose to them — we never share a conversation counterpart's email address directly, for example. We share data with the service providers that make the platform work: a payment processor for billing, a separate provider for identity verification, Resend for transactional email, and Cloudflare for hosting and file storage. Each only receives what it needs to do that job. We don't share your information with anyone else except where required by law, to enforce these terms, or to investigate fraud or a safety issue.
4. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Since we don't sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, there's nothing to opt out of on that front. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below; we'll verify your identity before acting on the request and respond within the time required by applicable law.
5. Data retention
We retain account and transaction data for as long as your account is active and as needed to comply with legal and financial recordkeeping obligations. Identity verification status (not the underlying documents, which we never receive) is retained for as long as it's needed to keep your account's verification current. You can request account deletion at any time; some data may be retained longer where required for fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal compliance.
6. Data security
We use industry-standard safeguards — encryption in transit, access controls limiting who at warmarket can see your data, and vetted third-party providers for the sensitive parts of the flow (payments, identity verification) — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
7. Children's privacy
warmarket is not directed to, and does not knowingly collect personal information from, anyone under 18. Accounts require you to be at least 18 (21 or older for certain categories) and to complete identity verification before listing or bidding.
8. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time; continued use of warmarket after a change means you accept the updated policy.
